Estrés, afrontamiento y apoyo social en madres mexicanas con hijos que tienen discapacidad auditiva

La discapacidad auditiva de un hijo constituye una fuente importante de estrés para el cuidador que afronta los retos de crianza. El presente estudio explora las relaciones entre el nivel de estrés, las estrategias de afrontamiento y la percepción de apoyo social percibido por las madres de niños con discapacidad auditiva en México. Participaron 68 madres de niños con discapacidad auditiva quienes respondieron los cuestionarios de Índice de estrés Parental (IEP), Cuestionario Modos de Afrontamiento y Cuestionario de apoyo social (SSQ). Los resultados de un modelo de trayectorias sugieren que la escolaridad de las madres y el trabajo remunerado, influyen en el nivel de estrés, el apoyo social percibido y el estilo de afrontamiento materno.
