Género y nivel educativo en las narrativas autobiográficas de la infancia

Resumen

Este trabajo aborda la influencia del género y el nivel educativo sobre la memoria autobiográfica. Se sitúa en la línea de investigaciones de la psicología socio-cultural que relacionan el contexto con el desarrollo de los procesos cognitivos. Se realizaron entrevistas estructuradas sobre recuerdos personales de la infancia a 96 hombres y mujeres entre 30 y 55 años con diferente grado de escolaridad: alfabetización, educación básica y universitaria de Cd. Victoria, Tamaulipas. El análisis de recuerdos personales se basa en las categorías propuestas por Wang (Wang 2001, Wang y Conway 2004). Se estudiaron los roles de los personajes que aparecen en las narrativas autobiográficas en los contextos: familiar, educativo, laboral, recreativo y deportivo.Los resultados señalan que las narrativas de la infancia de las mujeres se centran en temas sociales y aparece un mayor número de expresiones emocionales, los roles a desempeñar se relacionan al cuidado de los hijos, la realización de trabajo doméstico y el agrado por actividades escolares. En las narrativas de los hombres el contenido gira alrededor de sus propios deseos e intereses, realizan menos expresiones verbales emotivas, existe una tendencia a contribuir con el cuidado de los hijos, pero no así de realizar labores domésticas, además muestran mayor interés por el deporte. Se encontró también que conforme se incrementaba el nivel educativo se producían narrativas más extensas.
