The present text has the objective to think about the deficiencies of epistemological type related to education of the psychologists in the Academic Unit Law and Social Sciences and its principal consequences. Supposing that a solid philosophical education will allow to psychologists to face the challenges of a multiparadigmatic psychology, it is relevant reconsider the current structure of knowledge that is transmitted to apprentice psychologist, because this is crucial to the right understanding about the psychology as science.
Therefore, some important antecedent factors will be evaluated in this work. For example: the influence of positivism over psychology; also the concept of paradigm in Thomas Kuhn; as well as a short evaluation about the eclecticism as a distorted option in the face of a multiparadigmatic psychology. All this in order to achieve explicate the status of psychology in a general level, then contextualize the problem of local psychology. Finally a notion of a critical psychology, built over epistemological basis, is exposed, in order to allow to psychologists not only apply a handful of knowledge of either theory, but also question the foundations of the theory and its use.
