Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines


Any research article, opinión or essay published in the journal must meet the following characteristics:

 a) made in Word 97 or 2003 word processor, or another compatible one, in the case of tables or graphs they must have a format that allows them to work in Word or Power Point; b) Arial or Times New Roman number 12;

 c) spaced at 1½. In the case of documents written by mechanical means, consult the 1-page format. All works without exception must have a title, their authority is after this beginning with the last names and the name of the author or authors;

Academic degrees and job positions and the academic institution of membership must be presented separately (in a different document).

The Journal of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences of the Academic Unit of Legal and Social Sciences only accepts original articles of empirical, theoretical and methodological research in the field of social and behavioral sciences, in addition to works that are the product of a reflexive critique of and in human behavior or science. Those articles that are nominated in parallel in some other journal will not be published.

 Each and every one of the articles published in this journal are thoroughly reviewed by the General Editor as well as by the editorial review team to be subsequently judged by specialist scholars, in a double-blind peer review process.

The direction and Editorial board of the Journal of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences of the Academic Unit of Legal and Social Sciences is not responsible for the opinions expressed in the articles of the journal by their authors, likewise, they assign rights over intelectual property of the articles.

 In general, the rules of publication of the Journal of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences of the Academic Unit of Legal and Social Sciences will be adjusted to the most widespread internationally, which are those of the American Psychological Association in the most recent version.

 The authors request to adhere, in the preparation of their research reports and / or essays, the Ethical Norms explained by the Journal.

 The rules of publication may be modified in the event that the management considers it convenient.
